I am a research student in Osaka School of International Public Policy (OSIPP). I have Bachelor of Arts and Master of Science degrees in Economics. I have my second Master’s Degree in International and Public Affairs. During my school life, issues on economic development and trade, poverty, and income inequality appealed me the most. Before coming to OSIPP, I was working as Foreign Trade Expert.

This academic and professional background brought me to the decision that I would like to search more about economic development and international trade as well as contributing to international community by sharing my experience and research as much as possible. OSIPP has a broad and diverse structure consisted of people full of these aspirations and goals. The students have different fields of interests with high level of commitment to their research topics and goals. This dedication creates a harmony where students can interact with each other and exchange not only their ideas and opinions, but also their unique experiences which is invaluable.

In OSIPP, the students have mostly flexible schedules within their track. There is a broad variety of options to choose among different lectures such as economics and law. Professors have distinctive expertise and academic backgrounds from various universities in Japan and in the world. All this diversity makes this academic environment richer and deeper. The classes may be conducted either in Japanese or in English. This means, at class and homework assignments students can use English.

Like students from around the world, professors bring their unique experience and expertise to OSIPP. This accumulation of knowledge makes OSIPP an ideal environment to start studying and conduct research on public policy issues such as economic development, international trade, regional integration, peace and security, environmental issues, and international human rights.

Apart from those features, by becoming a part of OSIPP, students may have a broad global network around the world. This opportunity may bring the alumni different aspects and experiences about their professional field. For all those reasons, I chose OSIPP.

On the other hand, being in Osaka may provide students with warm climate, budget friendly options in housing and accommodation, shopping, and groceries. Besides, students may still experience pleasing and rich city life.

If you are interested in public policy issues, having classmates from different countries, hearing different languages, acquiring new horizons and impacting international community in a positive way, and studying in one of the most prestigious universities in the world, Osaka University’s School of International Public Policy will serve your goals.
